Labor export as an economic policy

You cannot build a country through remittances, you can only sustain it. No country in the first world got rich through remittances, they did it through industrialization and creativity and we must do the same.


To encourage our people to go out and send back those dollars at the expense of their families shows how the government abandons their role in building the country . Specially when those same people they tag Bagong Bayani are needlessly exposed to abuse because of the indifference and even evil intentions of some of our own embassy personnel.

Wealth built through real exports rather than remittances will build this country and not the other way around. We cant truly grow an economy without paying more attention to industry and internal growth.

But of course, for them, the easiest way to serve us is to have less of us to serve and have more money coming in.
